Core Beliefs
The following are the core beliefs of First Baptist Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative Word of God — without error in its original form — and that it is the final word on matters of faith and how we live.
The Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existing as three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — equal in nature, distinct in role, united in purpose.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus is fully God and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived without sin, died in our place, rose bodily from the grave, and will return visibly and personally to earth. There is no other name by which we are saved.
Salvation
We believe every person is born with a sinful nature and is separated from God. Salvation comes through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone — not by effort or merit — and results in new life and freedom from condemnation.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit indwells every believer, convicting the world of sin and empowering Christians to grow in holiness, truth, and love.
The Church
We believe the local church is a community of baptized believers, gathered for worship, discipleship, and the proclamation of the gospel to the ends of the earth.
Baptism & the Lord's Supper
We practice believer's baptism by immersion and observe the Lord's Supper as a commemoration of Christ's death — both practiced in obedience to Christ until He returns.
Marriage & Sexuality
We believe marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, and that sexual intimacy belongs exclusively within that covenant.
Last Things

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the personal return of Jesus Christ to establish his kingdom — the eternal joy of the redeemed and the just condemnation of the unrepentant.
