The Mission of First Baptist Church is to make disciples who make disciples by proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the Earth.
In order to accomplish this mission, all members must be involved. We remember what each member should be about because of these four words: Gospel, Grow, Gather, Go.
Gospel: In order to fulfill our mission of making disciples, each member of the church should know the gospel, love the gospel, and apply the gospel: Jesus died for our sins and rose again. Our hope is that each member of FBC would be growing to know and understand the Good News and respond in love and gratitude.
Grow: To make disciples, each member should be growing in the Word and in prayer. We should be striving to grow through our reading of scripture and prayer life.
Gather: If we are to make disciples, then each member of FBC should gather with other believers at least twice a week. We should all gather together for worship on Sunday so that we can glorify the Lord and learn from His Word. We should also gather in a smaller group setting for prayer, accountability, and encouragement. Both of these gatherings are crucial in our discipleship.
Go: Finally, each disciple should be active in the community and take the gospel with them. Outreach can be different for each of us, but the goal is always the same: to take the gospel to those who do not know it so that they can become disciples also.
We have a mission: Gospel, Grow, Gather, Go.
